Congressman Hoyer Attends Unity Reception Hosted by the Maryland Democratic Party
GREENBELT, MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) attended a unity reception hosted by the Maryland Democratic Party this morning and discussed Democratic Party unity ahead of the November election.
“Today, Maryland Democrats came together to stand with our 2014 nominees,” stated Congressman Hoyer. “Everyone who participated in the Democratic primaries did so because they want to grow more opportunities for Maryland families – and I thank Attorney General Gansler and Delegate Mizeur for their work to make our party stronger. Today, we are standing together to send a strong message to voters that we are united behind Anthony Brown and Ken Ulman, and we are going to work tirelessly to elect them and to make Brian Frosh our next Attorney General. Maryland Democrats are determined to achieve a Democratic victory in November, and I look forward to sending Anthony and Ken to Annapolis to build a better Maryland for more Marylanders.”
Congressman Hoyer was joined at today's event by Senator Ben Cardin, Rep. John Sarbanes, Rep. Donna Edwards, Congressional Candidate for Maryland’s First District Bill Tighlman, Governor Martin O’Malley, Lt. Governor Anthony Brown, County Executive Ken Ulman, Attorney General Doug Gansler, Delegate Heather Mizeur, Senator Brian Frosh, Delegate Jon Cardin, Comptroller Peter Franchot, and Maryland Democratic Party Chair Yvette Lewis.
