BOWIE, MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) has been endorsed for his reelection to Congress in the Fifth Congressional District by several organizations representing federal employees including the American Federation of Government Employees; the National Treasury Employees Union; the National Federation of Federal Employees; and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.
“I am honored to receive the support of these organizations that represent the best federal workforce in the world,” stated Congressman Hoyer. “I am proud to represent over 62,000 federal employees in the Fifth District, which is home to a number of federal facilities. In the next Congress, I look forward to continuing to advocate for fair pay and benefits on behalf of our federal employees, who provide critical support and services to all Americans.”
“The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) is proud to once again endorse Congressman Steny Hoyer for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives,” said J. David Cox, National President of AFGE. “Steny Hoyer is the best friend on Capitol Hill that federal employees have ever had.”
“For over 30 years, Congressman Hoyer has been a leader on federal employee issues in Congress,” said Colleen M. Kelley, National President of the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU). “Congressman Hoyer has fought tirelessly to protect federal employees from attacks on their pay, benefits, and even their jobs. I urge all NTEU members, all federal employees and retirees, and all voters in Maryland’s 5th Congressional District to support his reelection.”
“As the oldest union to represent federal employees, we are privileged to have Steny Hoyer stand with us on behalf of the 110,000 federal employees we represent across the nation,” stated William R. Dougan, President of the National Federation of Federal Employees. “Congressman Hoyer has consistently and tirelessly been a champion of federal employees and the value that they bring every day to the American people. His passion and leadership on behalf of working men and women in general and federal employees in particular has been important to our members.”
