Hoyer Attends 2013 Truman-Kennedy Hosted by the Charles County Democratic Central Committee
WALDORF MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) attended the 2013 Truman-Kennedy Dinner hosted by the Charles County Democratic Central Committee this evening and delivered remarks. At the event Nancy Schertler was honored with the Truman Award Walt Powell was honored with the Kennedy Award and Marie Lancaster was honored with the John Thomas Parran Award. “I was honored to join the Charles County Democratic Central Committee this evening and join in recognizing Nancy Walt and Marie for all that they do in our community ” stated Congressman Hoyer. “I was pleased to discuss important challenges facing our state and our country this evening including the need to create jobs grow opportunities for our middle class help businesses compete and protect the American dream for the next generation. In Congress I’m leading a jobs plan called Make It In America which focuses on policies that will strengthen domestic manufacturing and have a positive effect on job creation and economic growth. I also continue to push for a balanced and bipartisan alternative to replace the sequester and provide certainty to businesses and working families.
