Hoyer Attends Christmas in April in Prince George's County
CLINTON, MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) attended Christmas in April in Prince George's County this afternoon. The annual service day brings together community volunteers to rehabilitate the homes of low-income, elderly, and disabled homeowners.
"I was pleased to visit with volunteers making repairs to Fifth District homes today," said Congressman Steny Hoyer. "By assisting their neighbors, these volunteers are strengthening their neighborhoods and communities. Without their commitment, many critical repairs would go undone in the homes of their neighbors. Oftentimes, these homeowners are unable to make important maintenance repairs in order to afford basic necessities such as food or rent. I join in thanking these outstanding volunteers for their hard work to support veterans, low-income families, individuals with disabilities, and elderly residents in the Fifth District."
Congressman Hoyer visited a homeowner in Clinton where volunteers did a number of repairs including ceiling beam repair, appliance repair, and work to make the home more accessible.
