ANNAPOLIS MD – Today Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) attended the Maryland Black Caucus Foundation (MBCF) Legislative Conference joining attendees at the Maryland Black Mayors Roundtable. “Under the O’Malley-Brown Administration our state has made real strides in attracting jobs and growing opportunities for Marylanders – but there is still much more work to do ” stated Congressman Hoyer. “As elected officials and stakeholders at the state and local level the Maryland Black Caucus Foundation plays an important role in our economic recovery every day working to lure jobs help those who are out of work and provide assistance to low-income families. My number one priority continues to be making sure Congress is helping with that effort – not hindering it. That’s why I will keep pressing my colleagues to work together in a bipartisan way to take meaningful action on jobs economic opportunities and preserving programs that serve the most vulnerable in our society.” “I thank the Foundation and its members for all the hard work they do each day and look forward to continuing to work together on behalf of working families and businesses in our state ” concluded Congressman Hoyer.
