Hoyer Attends Pre-Primary Events, Encourages Marylanders to Vote on Tuesday
BOWIE, MD - Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) released the following statement today after attending several events ahead of the Tuesday, April 26 primary election to energize voters and to support Hillary Clinton:
“I was proud to join fellow Democrats today across the Fifth District to emphasize the importance of Tuesday’s election and to energize Marylanders to vote. We are going to demonstrate just how energized and motivated Maryland Democrats are to win in November. This primary is, in many ways, a dry-run for our get-out-the-vote efforts in November. It’s also the first step in laying the groundwork to win back the governorship and elect Democrats to the General Assembly in 2018. I’m supporting Hillary Clinton to be our nominee for president because I believe she has the best experience and best judgment to lead our nation through the challenges we will face over the next few years. I’m proud to be on the ballot and to serve as the Congressman for the Fifth District. I’m honored to fight on behalf of Fifth District families and businesses in Congress. The consequences of this year’s election will be monumental. Democrats are for putting Congress back on the side of Americans who are working hard to get by and get ahead. We’re for a Congress that listens to the American people and never says ‘you’re on your own’ but is always ‘on your side.’”
