Hoyer Delivers Remarks at Charles County Democratic Central Committee Dinner
WALDORF, MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) attended and delivered brief remarks last night at the Charles County Democratic Central Committee's 40th Truman Kennedy Dinner. Congressman Elijah Cummings (MD-7) served as the keynote speaker.
“I was so glad to join Charles County Democrats for the 40th annual Truman-Kennedy Dinner,” said Congressman Steny Hoyer. “We are in the middle of a historic election that will determine the direction of our country for years to come, with real-life consequences for millions of Americans. On April 26, we will not only be going to the polls to select our party’s nominee for president of the United States and our nominee for United States Senate, we will also be performing a dry-run for our get-out-the-vote efforts in the general election – and for the gubernatorial and legislative elections in 2018. We need to show the country a strong Democratic voter turnout on Primary Day so we can demonstrate how we’re going to keep Maryland blue on Election Day in November.”
“I’m supporting Hillary Clinton for president because I believe she has the best record, experience, and judgment to lead our nation through the challenges we face,” continued Congressman Hoyer. “No matter who our nominees are, though, we’re going to come together and work hard to elect Democrats to the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives this year. I’m proud to be on the ballot to serve Charles County for another term in Congress, and it’s been a privilege to be your representative and fight for jobs, opportunities, and the values that this Democratic Club has always represented.”
The Charles County Democratic Central Committee is the governing body for the Democratic Party in Charles County, and is chaired by Gilbert B.J. Bowling.
