Hoyer Endorsed for Reelection by Federal Employee Unions
BOWIE, MD - Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) was endorsed for reelection by American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU), and American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE). These federal employee unions represent millions of workers in Maryland, including many of the 62,000 federal employees that live in the Fifth District.
"Federal employees ensure our government runs effectively for the American people," said Congressman Hoyer. "I'm proud to stand with federal civilian employees and fight for the better pay and stronger benefits that they deserve. I join in thanking them for the critical work they do each day to serve our nation, and I'll keep advocating for them in Congress."
"Through thick and thin, Steny Hoyer has proven himself to be a true friend to AFSCME, union members and all working people," said Lee Saunders, President, AFSCME."
"Throughout your career you have fought with us to ensure that federal employees are treated with dignity and respect and that the federal government is a model employer that provides competitive pay and benefits," said Anthony M. Reardon, President, NTEU.
"Congressman Hoyer has always had our backs, never more so than during times of national crisis," said Everett Kelley, President, AFGE.
