Hoyer Endorses Biden for President

BOWIE, MD - Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05), the Majority Leader in the U.S. House of Representatives, officially endorsed Joe Biden in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary.  Biden, the party's presumptive nominee, is running to end President Donald Trump's disastrous term in office, restore justice, make our economy work for all Americans by expanding opportunities, protect access to affordable health care, and rebuild our alliances abroad.

"This election is the most important of my lifetime, and I strongly believe that Joe Biden is the person this country needs to bring us together to confront the extraordinary challenges we face," Congressman Hoyer said. "Joe Biden is a man of integrity, a man of empathy, a man of common sense. That's why the people of Delaware elected him over and over again, and that's why Barack Obama chose him to be the Vice President of the United States and why he served so ably and so well and so loyally in that capacity. He's made a difference throughout his life, and he'll make a difference for America."

Maryland's Democratic Presidential Primary election, which includes the primary election for Maryland's Fifth Congressional District, will take place on Tuesday, June 2, and ballots will be cast primarily by mail. Ballots must be completed and returned with a postmark no later than June 2 to be counted. No postage is necessary to return a completed ballot by mail.

In-person drop-off sites are also located in every Maryland county, and ballots may be dropped off at these sites until 8:00 pm on June 2.  For a list of drop-off sites from the Board of Elections, click here.
