Hoyer Hosts Annual Fifth District Educators of the Year Luncheon
UPPER MARLBORO, MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) hosted the annual Fifth District Educators of the Year Luncheon today to recognize 17 outstanding teachers and principals, including the Washington Post’s Teacher of the Year and Principal of the Year finalists and County Teacher of the Year Award recipients for Prince George’s, Anne Arundel, Charles, Calvert, and St. Mary’s Counties.
“I was glad to join in thanking many outstanding educators from the Fifth District today,” said Congressman Hoyer. “We ask so much of our teachers and administrators, who work each day to educate and inspire our students. As a society, we must do more to ensure our educators have the resources they need to help every student succeed.”
“I’m proud that our state continues to lead the country when it comes to educating our children,” continued Congressman Hoyer. “We must continue building on the progress we’ve made over the past decade to ensure our students are fully equipped with the skills they need to succeed. That’s why I’ll continue to fight against the efforts by the Trump Administration to disinvest in our students, teachers, and communities. I join in congratulating these hardworking teachers and principals for their well-deserved recognition.”
