"I am proud to receive a perfect 100% score from NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice on their 2019 Voting Record," said Congressman Hoyer. "Throughout my career, I've fought hard to expand opportunity and advance justice and equality for all. Since taking the Majority, House Democrats have worked hard for the people, including passing legislation to raise wages, lower health care prescription drug costs, expand access to the ballot box, protect DREAMers, and prevent discrimination against LGBTQ Americans. I was pleased to bring these critically important bills to the Floor and ensure their passage as Majority Leader. I thank Sister Simone Campbell and NETWORK activists for their strong advocacy, and I will continue to work with them and my colleagues to ensure more families in our state and around the nation can get ahead."
"The Catholic Sisters and activists of NETWORK are so proud to announce that Majority Leader Steny Hoyer has received a 100% score on the 2019 Catholic Social Justice Voting Record," said Sister Simone Campbell, SSS, Executive Director of NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice. "Majority Leader Hoyer has been a consistent champion of economic justice, and his leadership has charted a path forward for our nation. Truly representing all of his constituents is at the heart of his politics. This is what democracy is all about, and we know that Majority Leader Hoyer is a noted defender of the common good."
