Hoyer Reelected to Congress for Maryland's Fifth Congressional District
BOWIE, MD - Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement after being reelected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Maryland's Fifth Congressional District:
"I'm honored to once again receive the support of Marylanders in the Fifth District. Throughout my career in Congress, I've fought for policies that help working families in Maryland get ahead, including expanding access to affordable health care and ensuring more individuals have access to economic opportunity. As we look toward the 117th Congress, I'll continue to champion issues that matter greatly to my constituents, including taking action to address climate change, supporting legislation to reform our broken criminal justice system and address racial inequality in our nation, advocating for legislation to rebuild our infrastructure systems, and protecting our federal civilian workforce. As our nation continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic, I'll work with my colleagues to enact legislation that delivers relief to families and small businesses struggling during this uncertain time.
"I want to thank the voters of the Fifth District for putting their faith in me. I look forward to continuing to fight for Maryland families each and every day in Congress."
