Hoyer Statement on Filing for Re-Election

ANNAPOLIS, MD - Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement today after filing for re-election to represent Maryland's Fifth Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives:

"I am pleased to file for re-election to continue serving the people of Maryland's Fifth District," said Congressman Hoyer. "During my time in Congress, I've fought to improve access to affordable health care for families in our state, strengthen our middle class by creating and protecting good-paying jobs, protect the pay and benefits of our hardworking federal workforce, improve the health of the Chesapeake Bay, and protect the promise of Social Security and Medicare for our seniors. Much has been accomplished to improve the lives of families in the Fifth District, but there is more work to be done."
