Hoyer Statement on Winning Reelection

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD – Tonight, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) issued the following statement after his reelection to serve for a twenty-third term in the United States House of Representatives:

“I am honored that the voters of Maryland's Fifth District entrusted me to serve as their voice in the House of Representatives during the 119th Congress.

"Throughout my time in Congress, one priority has outranked all others: delivering results for Marylanders. Last year, Team Maryland celebrated our successful effort to bring the new FBI consolidated headquarters to Prince George's County. As Chair of Regional Leadership Council, I continued my work to ensure that the historic investments that Democrats made last Congress to lower costs, create jobs, expand affordable health care access, rebuild infrastructure, revitalize manufacturing, build safer communities, and care for our veterans reach every community in Maryland.

"From rebuilding the Francis Scott Key Bridge to breaking ground on the new FBI headquarters to investing further in health care, education, and other areas, much work remains to create new opportunities for Marylanders to get ahead. For years, I've been proud to tackle that work with my dear friend Prince George's County Executive Angela Alsobrooks. Next Congress, I look forward to continuing that cooperation with her as she serves as Maryland's next senator. Together, we'll continue our fight to ensure that our people have the tools and opportunities they need to make it in Maryland and Make It In America."
